Lapcount at the end of day 2

After 2 days:
Alpine: 257 laps
Red Bull: 256
Alfa Romeo 256
AlphaTauri: 253
Haas: 247
Ferrari: 246
Williams: 214
McLaren: 195
Aston Martin: 177
Mercedes: 152

...from Autosport-forum
This is sad to see for Merc. As a merc fan, my favs for this year is redbull.
Depends on what they are testing on the laps they run, and the laps they don't

I think Giovinazzi drove 3x4 hours and Kimi only 1x4 hours. So Gasly is on top.
You mean the lap counts, right?
I just double checked that tweet with the Pirelli photos, and it checks out.

Would you say we have any genuine representative running to compare lap times or has this literally been a mileage & reliability exercise owing to the low grip in those dusty afternoon sessions?

Can we expect to see a few low fuel efforts in the day 3 evening session?

Yes, I mean the lap counts.

Kimi drove only yesterday a.m. = 1 time and Gio drove yesterday p.m. and
he drove today a.m. and p.m. ------> 3 times
Gasly only yesterday a.m and today p.m. ------> 2 times

So Gio drove 193 rounds in 3 sessions (12 hours) and
Gasly drove 161 ronds in 2 sessions (8 hours) ------> He belongs on top of the list.

There was part of session 2 today that several cars were on the same race sims at the same time/temps. Those laps might be the best representations to get some type of order.

Here is the timing data from today's test as requested.
I reformatted the timestamps slightly so that the whole thing is a bit more readable.

From The Race - Adjusted fastest laps taking into account tire compounds, estimated fuel loads, etc.

Historically, with Bahrain being one of Merc’s worst circuits (being rear-limited), this bodes well for them. McLaren looking sharp. Ferrari breaking my heart.

Mercedes 1m28.3s
Red Bull 1m28.5s
McLaren 1m28.65s
Aston Martin 1m28.7s
AlphaTauri 1m29.1s
Ferrari 1m29.5s
Alpine 1m29.5s
Alfa Romeo 1m30.4s
Williams 1m31.3s
Haas 1m32.45s

That lap looks really smooth, like he wasn't really pushing. I was expecting it to be a lot more manic!

This is what the cars are capable of in race conditions. NOT qualifying.

Frankly Mercedes were not being honest when they said they'd be at 2019 levels. Unless they lost downforce between 2019 and 2020.

In addition:

Chief engineer Guillaume Rocquelin says in a press release from Red Bull Racing that he is satisfied. "Sergio drove a full race simulation today, including pit stops. That was very helpful for him as he finds his place in the team and learns our procedures."

He continues: "We had some minor problems, but nothing serious. It didn't affect our program, so these are things you want to encounter during testing. Other than that, it was another good day."

"We weren't doing fast lap times and only drove on a hard compound, so we can't really draw any conclusions from the time lists.
All in all, we've had two good days, and hopefully we can finish the test tomorrow with another one. productive day",

That lap didn't look like a car being hustled at all. All very smooth.

Yep, considering the comments from the press and the commentators I was expecting it to be way more manic.
