I feel that Ferrari is going to put the teams interests at the first place and might just stop, except when one of them doesn't stand a realistic chance in the WDC anymore, preferring one driver above the other. In other words: Ferrari couldn't care less if the 2 can't stand eachother, as long as they both rack up the points and don't drive eachother off the road.

The choice is between Hulkenberg and Raikkonen. No matter who your staying driver is, you are always going to choose Raikkonen (well actually, Raikkonen chooses you), though admittingly Hulkenberg has great potentional and might end up there eventually. Just not next year; he has a hopeless battle against an ice mountain in that respect.

didn't knew cows could run that fast  . Good to see they are ok (and Kubica as well of course).

Well, no matter who ends up at Ferrari, at least Hulkenberg will potentially have a better car next year.

I hate to say this, but i thought the driver market was about to make a swing yesterday as when i was returning from Monza that Eric Bullier was on my BA flight home at 1555. He looked like a contented man, a man who looked like he was gonna have an announcement soon, his phone was to his ear for 65% of the time in the baggage reclaim at T5.

As i see it;

RAI/HUL at Ferrari with HUL doing the majority of the PR days, RAI wants to do 12 a year, he may do 15 now, but HUL will do loads more with TD/RDs doing equal amount to HUL.

ALO/MAL to Lotus, Grosjean Total money replaced with Santander and PDVSA, Total leaves with GRO to Caterham. The €55m from Santander and €65m helping Lotus out their €150m unsecured debt black hole.

PIC/SIR at Sauber with SIR bringing his €55m from Russia and PIC bringing his €24m from helping Sauber out with their €75m unsecured debt hole.

BOT/NAS at Williams with BOT being #1 and Nasr bring money from Brazil to help team financially. Outside bet is a drive for Sam Bird here.

GRO/VDG at Caterham, GRO to bring a top driver to a young team, and also bring his Total Euro to the team and also keep the €27m from VDG. A gutsy partnership.

I think there will be a few more driver surprises to some this silly season.

Both drivers are mature & all, but when it comes to the more or less recognized hunger they have for another title it's every man for himself.

I don't see either of them saying "Oh, I'll help my teammate in the spirit of the Scuderia, Enzo Ferrari and Prancing Horse Gods because he has 0,73% more chances at the title than I have".
To be fair Raikkonen WAS helping Massa during 2008 (only one race though).

Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my Sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support! Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining 7 races. For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the Championship which remains my greatest objective! Thank you all. Felipe

So....who wants to bet nobody really wants massa in their teams?
I think he will have trouble finding a seat next year unless he puts up money.

I can not imagine a team paying Massa for his services, not with the level of talent in F1 and incoming.

I think Ferrari have made a mistake.
I hope Hulkenburg gets the free seat, can't think of anyone more deserving on the grid.
Someone mentioned Maldonardo alongside him above, I think that would be a clever choice.

Unfortunately for Massa, I have to agree. The poor guy has never been right since 09 incident.
Fair play to Ferrari for sticking with him.

Agreed, Ferrari wouldn't risk two team leads in their team, they never have!

The only thing surprising about Massa leaving Ferrari is that it didn't happen years ago, he's just so inconsistent!
