So...
- Otmar heard about Alonso leaving through the AM press statement... (a bit sloppy of Alonso, I have to say), and Otmar stated to be confused about that...
- in response, Oscar heard that he was being hired through the Alpine press statement.

Very interesting information flows in the paddock.

I have dealt with a French company this time of year and been told the 'person' who was supposed to have arranged something was on holidays. Is this another case of -off on holiday on holiday from July, so things do not get done?

No ones fault, it just happens to fall when no one is there? Huge oversight if it is, but it would not be the firs time
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

100%, there is no way he would choose a place in DTM over Alpine F1

With Williams having a announcment today, so close to the Piastri drama, gets the conspiratory person in me to say; "Ricciardo?". It would obviously give way for Piastri to take that McLaren seat.

But why Williams you might ask? Well, perhaps there might be something within Alpine that he doesn't like (perhaps had conversation with Piastri, Alonso & Webber) and thus the most probable destination for Ricciardo if he were to leave McLaren would not be Alpine any longer.

HAAS maybe, since Ricciardo likes America. Well, could be an option, but perhaps not if Ferrari has a say in that Mick seat. They might want to retain Mick or see if someone like Shwartzman would be a better option. Magnussen has another year.

That would leave Williams. For Williams it makes sense. Less so for Ricciardo due to where Williams are. But perhaps they could give him a similar contract to that of which Alonso was rumoured to have gotten from Aston Martin. 3 years and could walk away anytime he wants if the car isn't up to par. Williams would have Albon in the second seat (probably) and Logan Sargeant as their reserve who they could chuck in.

The Williams announcement would probably "just" be Albon being retained or even something smaller, taking advantage of the hype that is going around.
