well, yeah. The over-under is always a risk in turn 1 at COTA. Piastri should have known.
Exactly the judgement error Sainz made when he tried doing the same and had Russel punt him on the inside (2022/2023 ?)

Not sure what wrong Norris did ? Yes his start wasn't good, but he didn't do anything wrong with his line into T1, he did the typical defensive line of anyone who takes the inside line into this Texas T1 corner.

Also today it was 34 celsius, tomorrow only 28-29 celsius at the race. So overheating of tyres won't be a problem. This could further help Red Bull and Mercedes, since Mclaren's advantage is in the tyre cooling.

the F1 live timing said 30°C for the sprint. I think it's only supposed to get this hot later on in the day.

What’s surprising was the Mercedes pace. Even with 5 lap older tyres. George wasn’t even happy with the setup either.

So things could be really interesting tomorrow.
RUS was just dumping the battery through S1 to stay in the DRS window of VER. Post the divebomb, over the 5 laps they ran without DRS, RUS was roughly 0.25s or so a lap slower than VER. Doesn't mean VER doesn't have problems, rear tyres were out of temp window after the laps behind the safety car. Unfortunate that we didn't get to see the pace of the McLarens.

For the sprint add SC laps on to the end to a maximum of +5. Tell the teams to fuel appropriately.

Would be difficult for the race due to fuel tank volume but for this sprint that’s not an issue.

Yeah, that was a joke. As I remember, Sainz yanked it pretty much into Russel, and Russel got a penalty, in typical FIA failure stewarding fashion...

He basically tried to push Oscar off track by braking too late! Piastri had two options…either go off the track on the outside and lose places or do the switch back on the inside and hope for a better exit! Alonso and Hulk were both way too close not to attack so it ended up in carnage!

I understand that he’s trying to beat his teammate like any other driver but in doing so he’s taking risks and basically handing Verstappen an open goal from miles back…he’ll just walk over them by Abu Dhabi!

Two cars parked on track, two cranes on track to move the cars…what else do they need to put out the red flag? A broken barrier or something?

Just capitalize on the chance to produce entertainment just like you did 4 years ago…

Lando had the inside and did exactly what any other driver would have done, he has no blame in this. Oscar should have opted either for going off track (safest), slot in directly behind Lando (also pretty safe), but alas he chose the high risk option of attempting a cutback. It failed.

Piastri was on full send, as Norris was in Singapore. Will he also face reprocussions?

Hopefully George can get it all sorted and take some points off Verstappen in tomorrows race

I wonder whether there is already some frustration within McL. Since their drivers are closely matched they will meet lots of times on track. And with the stakes this high...

is really team care about WDC for the drivers? It seems, Mclaren, only care about WCC not WDC.... They should put end to it else these kids will keep on crashing each other....

Mclaren is all over the place. I wonder if they managed to really fix the suspension damage fully.
