It looks like they are trying to work out the low speed stuff - Norris is turning a lot more in Turn 10 than it is needed, almost making it a hairpin.

Does anyone know why McLaren are running the test programme where they do constant speed laps and then scrub the front tyres by being overly aggressive with the steering angle around corners? I recall them doing it last year.

Thing is last year they did it around this time too but had mostly ticked off all the other things and were just waiting for cooler conditions to do some quali work. Now it feels because of the brake issue it's all that the team can do at the moment.

Trying to find a low speed setup that works?

There are new brake duct openings on the car, so probably evaluating cooling efficiency thought constant speed runs.

Lando just done it again, very quick outlap to bring the brakes up to temp then constant speed flying lap to measure how quickly they cool down.

Seidl just confirmed the new brake ducts are only a half solution, full solution coming next week. Sounds confident about fixing it, and about being competitive, but understandably frustrated.

Yeah, agreed. I don't think they are worried about performance. They are worried that they didn't test out the car well (tick all the boxes).

When talking about the potential of the car is when his grin comes back. But he seemed frustrated with the brakes temperature issue

Good interview with Seidl right now... Saying that they are still going to do some intermediate runs this evening. The solution this morning was always going to be a midway solution... Full fix coming for next week. But he is very confident that it is not a fundamental problem and will be fixed. They just got their Bahrain spec wrong ☹️

I know radicallity doesn't mean a fast car but I am missing the days when Mclaren brought a radical car like the MP4-18 for example and everyone is like oooohhh. I want to see these days back again where Mclaren is the cream of the crop.
All well and good to bring a radical car but let's not forget how many races the MP4-18 actually started.... 0

This year is a big bet. I want to see Mclaren being even closer to Mercedes and Red Bull and also take the fight to Ferrari as they did last year mostly so people like Helmut Marko and some neighsayers to be forced to eat their own arrogant words.

Wow Otmar just said Piastri would be available if Ricciardo is not well enough to race.

Why not? Everything to gain and nothing to loose

How come Mclaren decided to bring the big upgrade in Race 1 than test it here?

Not enough time to get it ready for this test?
