Ferrari SF23

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The car on display was #55, according to this article the new parts were only run on #16 in FP1. #55 receives it in FP2. Perhaps we could see more visible changes to the floor in FP2

I think you guys are focusing on the wrong part of the floor. According to my eyes it's not the edge that changed but the diffuser throat. There is a kink that wasn't there as far as I can remember. They probably want to get a sudden/immediate expansion in order to slow the airflow to a more manageable velocity and run the car lower without upsetting the flow.

So, Leclerc's car.

Did this side channel grow taller or not?
Whatever changes were made they aren't very visible without a look underneath.

I think lighting is playing tricks with the SIS in the two photos.

So if the floor is new, Leclerc has already permitted other teams to have photos of it after just 1 hour of use ...

Not much to see there.

Not all the photos go public, some F1 photographer sell photos specifically to teams.

I know, but this year marshalls were instructed to lift the cars only as much as needed in order not to show the underside. So the height we're seeing on these pictures was the maximum and you would need to be right next to the car to make pictures of it's floor.

According to the quoted post, in FP2 the new floor was tested by Sainz.
If true the photos of Leclerc's car recovery show the old floor.

Well, if yesterday the new floor was fitted only on one of the two cars, this means that till now we posted pictures with the old and the new floor.
Comparing this two ones below, it seems that the first one has the wall of the entry of the floor (sticker "Global Poker") a bit higher and shorter.

Ah, good, I wasn't crazy yesterday evening hahaha  Leclerc's floor was the new floor in FP2 as well yesterday, I've just spent half an hour looking for a good photo comparison from low angle, but you saved me the awful effort of drawing perspective lines and trying to prove to myself I wasn't crazy

Great find, mate! 8) Looks like a good 20-25mm outboard edge height increase...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Sorry, but, re-examining the pictures ](*,) , considering the different position of the stickers and the angle of the shots (first pic taken more from behind the interested part, second more from the front of it), I've come to the conclusion that the doubt remains :o .

The doubt will also remain, but, nevertheless, beautiful photos:
