Both cars has removed rear downforce and set-up to increase front balance. Very likely one of the few teams to go in the reverse direction in favor of race pace, cause the car is very stable for Alonso.

Yeah I get that. The issue is we are the slowest team in speed trap and it was already hard to overtake earlier in the sprint. Hoping we have good tyre deg is a risk

I think it's a mistake too. Only an off-sequence tyre strategy could make this work, but I have my doubts as this car is fundamentally the same as last year's tyre eater.

Maybe they have a better race car than a qualifying car this weekend and points are possible, we will see.

Edit: Just watched the youtube post qualy interviews, Alonso said that some of the changes made after the sprint was to improve tire degredation, "so hopefully tomorrow we have a better car".

Listening to his radio he complained on lap 5 about lack of deployment out of the last corner (of the previous lap). Nothing else after that.
