I know it sounds crazy, but if tomorrow confirms the advance of TR, I can bet that RB is responsible for this progress.

The difference between Gasly and Hartley is too big to be updated pieces. In the same way, I am very happy =P~

I'm interested in this answer as well.

RBR with 300 Honda engines on Dyno - Probable

RBR splitting their aero department between RBR and STR? - Doubtful

And this is an Aero update.

Honda is responsible for their progress on the PU.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Gasly said that aero upadates only benefits half of a tenth and they have changed aero setup that was helpfull in medium to high speed corners.

I personally find it hard to believe that Gasly only gained a tenth or so from the package, which would mean that Hartley is well over a second slower.

I do think that Gasly is overall faster and more aggressive, whereas Hartley, due to his experience in LMP1, has a better ability to manage fuel loads and tyres, but not that there's such gap over any given track.

I guess we'll soon know :)

I was just thinking that this could be the update that they were working with some Red Bull help.
When TR confirmed Honda as a partner, TR had to get outsiders to work on the back of the car. (We never knew who they are). Among other things that we surely do not know.
I'm just trying to find a "how is it possible"

Are they swapping the updates on Hartley's car today, meaning it's only available for one car?

Decent pace in FP3 for Toro Rosso. They even sandwiched the best chassis on the track  Seeing that the STR13 still needs a lot of work, imagine what that MCL33 could do with a Honda engine

Ok ok I'm not hating - just a tongue in cheek comment :)

Anyhow, Gasly and Hartley looked very much balanced in this session so it does look like the difference in pace was down to the aero package and that indeed it was worth more than a tenth. Unless of course Hartley had a different practice strategy.

After seeing the (near identical) FP3 times of Gasly and Harley it makes me even more curious what Toro Rosso were up to in FP1&2

Seems like a 1 to 1 comparison with the better package put on both cars for fp3/q/race. Seems elementary, actually.
