We're all F1 fans first and foremost, right?
Amen to that. I love a good debate on here, but some of the contentiousness over petty stuff has gotten absolutely out of control lately. That's the one thing the board could use less of.

Who has the high DF rear wing ? I remember hearing yesterday that Bottas had the high DF rear wing, and Lewis, the low DF one. Today I read on racefans it's the opposite.

Safe to say, I'm confused :S
Great question.

The way Toto explained it, although different wings were used on each car, both of them were set up in a way where they slightly converged from a performance perspective.

Lewis utilized the same single-pylon, lower-downforce wing he trialed on Friday, but with a slightly higher AoA on Saturday. Bottas, on the other hand, used the double-pylon, higher downforce wing with a slightly lower AoA.

Lewis - quali:

Bottas - quali spec:

Wow, great stuff. Thanks for the insight man.

It's perfectly alright to be confused in light of this 🙂

You are very welcome! Glad it was helpful. I totally agree. It doesn't help when the commentators are throwing around "low downforce" and "high downforce" wings/setups with very little nuance.

These set up show bottas limits according to me, he has less sensitivity and need more downforce in the risky turns

It should be a good race tomorrow, hopefully it will be a clean start then it will turn into a great battle between the 3 best drivers (imo) on the grid at the moment.

Hope Bottas can turn his weekend around and get some crucial constructors points for the team.
Absolutely.

How high do you project Bottas and Perez will climb?
I can't predict the future so anything I say is a complete guess, but I think Perez could end up P4 and Bottas P6.

I think a lot will depend on safety cars and whoever gets lucky with them.

I would’ve estimated the same regarding Bottas.

That tricky nature of the W12 is just absolutely exposing him this year.

Hamilton gonna be apologising for that one for a while. Looked like they both braked at the same time as well.

If I heard it correctly Lewis left break magic on so that's purely a driver mistake.

He actually turned it off, but then actuated it accidentally when overtaking Perez and upshifting.

Per team radio between Lewis and Bono.

So, it basically sounds like break magic completely disables brake by wire and puts all the braking on the front brakes.

What would be the benefit of putting all bias to the front? How does this help with race (re)starts?

Tyre warm up on lap to grid and behind safety car. Hence why he turn it off.
Accidently flickin it back on is a tiny error with major consequences.

It would surly help with the front tire warmup but aren't the rears more important during race starts?

They have 1000hp to warm the rear tyre up

Totally forgot about that. Thanks
