I thought what looked like a Merc slightly ruined Charles flow but still enough for pole.
Many cars competitive on a single lap, let's see who can hold on in race pace.

Depends if Max gets to use his pace and who is up front. If Norris or Hamilton takes the lead and Max gets stuck behind someone during the first stint it will be hard.

Russell found a pretty good lap there in the end, considering that they completely messed up the timing. He must have started it right behind Leclerc, and lost 3 tenths in S1 already.

Wonder if that mercedes characteristic will show itself in the race. Anyone with more knowledge, would this characteristic be more obvious or hidden with a higher fuel load?

edit: less so in the race, because they will be heavier on fuel and going slower.

Not sure S will be on the car that much. HAM looked decent in practice on H

I won't be as obvious, but still expect them to drop some pace.

The merc did look tail happy on the used softs, but I noted that Ham still seemed to have the confidence to catch the movements and push the car to the limit even as it was bucking around.

I don't think that was the case not too long ago.

Also, warm temps and big wing requirements just seem to make the merc come alive in general.
