:? divebombs back on the menu. Seems drivers don't mind the verstappen style of overtake, so long as you can "keep it on track"
Hilarious that the same weekend where russell gifts us this pearl of ignorance, he complains that Piastri, who's ahead of him, just brutally shuts the door in front of him not leaving him any space, and then proceeds to go on the radio to say Piastri turned into him.

What do you want George?
There's no dissonance, the drivers (who are the experts here) agreed that the driver on the inside has the right to the corner. In this case that was George.
That is not what is agreed of course. Just being on the inside doesn't grant you anything and I doubt anyone will change that.

And no, drivers aren't expert on rule making, as a matter of fact they are terrible at it.

I can’t shake the feeling that the track is absolutely incredible, but the racing sucks.

This track is pretty good for MotoGP but it I doesn't suit F1 racing.
It would be so good if they turned T1 into a Bahrain-esque hairpin. The track is super exciting with the high speed turns, but it really needs turn 1 to be a heavy braking zone.

It wouldn’t even ruin MotoGP here since it could be an alternate configuration.

Driver knowledge about racing >>> fan knowledge about racing. Let's not be arrogant.

Nothing to do with arrogance. Saying that drivers are better at rulemaking is like saying that normal citizens would be better at lawmaking than politicians because they work and live ‘in the real world’.

It’s not how it works.

No way Ocon is 0.9 sec slower as Gasly. This stinks since a few race weekends.

Normal citizens are a big part of lawmaking, it's called democracy. Lawmakers can write the rules, but people set the agenda and vote them in. Same basic principle with drivers. I'm not expecting George Russell to literally write the rules, but he and others should influence them.

From the looks of the surroundings on sattelite you could extend the main straight significantly. The terrain appears to rise up eventually but maybe you could accommodate a wide heavily banked T1 on the slope. Similar to Tarzan or the changes to Abu Dhabi.

It wouldn’t even need to be extended by much. The straight is already long enough for the drivers to get alongside each other, the braking zone just isn’t hard enough so drivers can always just defend the outside line and get into T2 ahead.

Like Lewis, he’s been phased out. Gasly has the new front wing.
