I read an Interview on some German F1-sites, where Martin Whitmarsch stated that they've hired some hi-rated tech-staff. And it will produce headlines in the media when they announce their names.
Any (detailled) information or rumors about that?
Same report in AutoSport.com, with no details.lio007 wrote:I read an Interview on some German F1-sites, where Martin Whitmarsch stated that they've hired some hi-rated tech-staff. And it will produce headlines in the media when they announce their names.

Why would Newey leave for Mclaren when he so entrenched into Red Bull? I don't see Red Bull pulling out the sport for the foreseeable future, and at the moment they are on course to be one of the most successful teams in the history of the sport. I think it's a possibility that at some point they will branch out from being a pure racing team and follow in the footsteps of Williams, and possibly Mclaren further down the line.Itchy_digits wrote:And haven't moved recently? Dundundun... Could Newey return?!
(I have no basis for this comment and it is purely wishful thinking)
Did anyone notice Newey wasn't sitting next to Horner? Was he on the circuit?iotar__ wrote:About McLaren star technical signing:
- All the top Red Bull guys unlikely for financial reasons. Maybe Newey for personal reasons, to show McLaren brass that denied him running it earlier how wrong they were and show them how it's done? Maybe as a challenge because it's too easy at Red Bull with all the advantages? He would have to take all his people back, wouldn't he? That's fantasy, especially before huge changes of 2014 and the car they've been working on.
- realistically from so called "big" names: 1. Tombazis. 2. Brawn. Less place for them with Allison/De Beer/Fry and Lowe respectively. With R. Brawn it looks like he's determined to stay and "reap fruits" or something like that.
- someone surplus from Mercedes, J. Key or whoever is left at Lotus and worth something?
Force India has anounced a technical partnership with Mercedes as far as I know?fritticaldi wrote:The German media, Bild is reporting that Kevin Magnussen will be driving one of the Force India cars next season. The Force India cars have technical assistance from McLaren so this would make sense. Another source is reporting that Russian driver, Vitaly Petrov has found big sponsorship somewhere in the vicinity of 25 million euros. Petrov may return with Marussia.
Simple. The change in construction of tyres from 2013 to 2012 spec. Since that happened there has been a massive contrast in fortunes.marcush. wrote:How come sauber started with a dog of a car and in the hands of Hulkenberg this car does score now and seems to be back on track and on the other hand Force India seems to fall off the cliff at the same time with di Resta and Sutil somehow clueless, almost paralysed looking on as the team grudually falls back in the pecking order.
Guttierez never should have been at Sauber in my opinion. There's nothing remotely remarkable about his ability, and I certainly hope he is gone after this season. He's had opportunities on both types of tires, yet has managed to make very little of these opportunities. If he had at least performed better one one construction over the other, one could see he doesn't match up well with a particular construction. However that is not the case. If Sirotkin is in that 2nd seat next year, it's going to be more of the same. Too bad Sauber can't lure Schumacher back for another go and pair him with Hulkenberg for 2014.marcush. wrote:one can only say -Hulk is the man of the moment and I would take him anyday over Ricciardo ,Perez,Guttierrez,Maldonado ,Barrichello ,di Resta Sutil or Grosjean -he very much shows he deserves a top drive.

Nico relly showed greatness this season not flaming the team for their lack of supplying competitive material ,not making big fuss about their lack of funds but putting his head down and delivering the goods +dragging everything possible from the car especially on "good "days like this weekend...One may say Gutierrez is not experienced, yes -but he came out of a weekend with a very capable car again not scoring a single point ...how much sponsorship do you need to bring to compensate ....Sauber need Hulk for next year more than ever methinks.
One of the best, based on what? Solid fifth places, stiff defending and a lot of marketing noise? Or going off and later crashing after leading Brazil? Let's not get carried away, half of copy-pasting opinions F1 world is now looking for a seat for poor Hulkenberg. His own fault for leaving Williams (it wasn't as simple as evil pay driver, they preferred Rubens, he fired his manager after contract negotiations) and Force India. What are his reference points?SectorOne wrote:Yea if he gets looked over again it´s a farce. He´s shown time and time again he is one of the best.
Based on what his resume was prior to F1. While that's no guarantor of success in F1, what it does show is competency behind the wheel of a race car. What he has shown to date is far more encouraging than anything I've seen out of the rest of his contemporaries.iotar__ wrote:One of the best, based on what? As for Gutierrez recently:
