Got this on the autosport forum. Didn't realise these are still being done.

Will Joseph (Lando's race eng) talks far too much IMO.

They have a relationship where I am sure Lando will say shut up if it’s too much.

Lando has said multiple times he wants it this way.

Some of the radio stuff from Ferrari lately has sounded frankly pathetic. Carlos wouldn't have copped it.

The issue some of us have with the Lando/Will partnership is decisiveness. It was found wanting last year, particularly in Silverstone where a win was thrown away but there were other times.... We need to draw a larger sample for 2025 to see if it is on a much better path. I think there is greater potential in the Piastri/Stallard partnership as they keep it simple and factual with a lack of emotional baggage. As a loyal McLaren fan it's hard to root for one driver over another. Lando is very talented and quick, Oscar is very talented and strong minded. Fascinating battle ahead, I hope both come out of 2025 with their heads held high, as unlikely as that may sound.

I don't really have an issue with being descriptive in the team radio, but I do think sometimes it is too much. Giving update to the driver about potential level 1 rain for 1-2 laps about 20 laps away seems totally unnecessary. That amount of rain is too low and it is too unpredictable. But I guess Lando wants to be kept in the loop as much as possible so we get full weather updates.

Decisiveness is also a potential problem. It does look like Lando wants to have plenty of say in decisions, which can obviously be very problematic as he can't get all the data and understanding of the situation from the inside of the car. I feel that with time as they start to get more experience at the front he will start to trust the team more and then engineer will be able to be more decisive.

In Australia we also saw how even Max was undecisive, he would have went on inters once again if he wasn't told that everyone else is switching to slicks.
