Red Bull RB20

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I see that both cars have the new (old) style engine cover. I thought that was meant to be a low downforce setup for Spa, is it also the superior high downforce set up for Zandvoort? :?:

Other way around. The spec with the shoulder (launch spec of the RB20) is the low downforce, the one Verstappen used in Hungary and in Zandvoort on both cars, is the high DF (draggy) version. Very likely the shoulders will be back on both cars in Monza.

Red Bull again not going for an insanely low downforce wing, which is their usual approach for Monza. Seemingly also the same spec wing they tried in Monza FP which some people said was just them going desperate to catch up

I know there are cutouts but that is a huge wing for Monza.

At a few angles it looks like foils in those cutouts have a bit lower angle as well, but still this cannot be a serious option for Monza like last two years

Hm, since we have Monza wings, is it possible to have a Monza track specific floor? Maybe RBR are using a floor that can balance out that rear wing.

Not really. The floor is super efficient, so you can't cut drag without losing huge amounts of downforce. And the total drag you can cut from the floor is small anyway.
