Peter Windsor said that Ferrari should have offered Newey a billion dollars last time around. And he wasn't joking. He meant literally a billion. So 100 millions doesn't sound like enough. But maybe Newey would like to see something happen with the British brand. He doesn't want to leave the UKdiffuser wrote: ↑04 Apr 2024, 00:51Aston Martin, waiting to know if Adrian Newey will want to discuss the sensational offer that Lawrence Stroll made to the English "genius" of Red Bull (there is talk of 100 million dollars in four years!),

btw, if i’m doing that quoting wrong, please just say so. never done it before!Right now Aston Martin only has one kit of the new upgrade package. It will be used by Lance Stroll in FP1 & FP2. The second kit should arrive later today and will be used by Fernando Alonso from FP3 onwards.
Hmm...very difficult to estimate.xReVo wrote: ↑04 Apr 2024, 15:43Yes a billion, but don't jokeTeamKoolGreen wrote: ↑04 Apr 2024, 14:53Peter Windsor said that Ferrari should have offered Newey a billion dollars last time around. Newey was reported at RedBull with 9m Euro during the cost cap breach as he "only" did some F1 projects and mainly worked on sailing and road cars
Given that this was maybe 10%, we can weight him into the 100m per year region already at RedBull.
Of course you can report a 1 Billion contract, if you give him 200m per year on a 5 year basis? But is this what we are talking about here and enough to go to Aston? Id this something RB could not cover?
They have new sidpods, new floor body, new floor fence and new floor edge with a modified rear diffuser. Non of it is for cooling. It's all to increase DF.Otromundo wrote: ↑05 Apr 2024, 09:22Stroll's car has some aerodynamic modifications. The most notable is in the sidepods that are now not so rounded, perhaps it has something to do with cooling and/or perhaps also with the search for greater top speed. They have also lengthened the bottom tail, widening it to the rear wheels.
There is an interesting video published by Albert Fábregas on YouTube. Although it is in Spanish, the images of the updates of the different teams are very interesting.
I don't understand why Stroll was in charge of testing AM's modifications.

They also added a little height to the highest points of the engine cover's twin arcs, before the rear exit. Presume that gets more downward flow of that air coming out from under the engine cover.
