It's pretty hard to know what exactly Ferrari was up to during FP1 and FP2, they never did true race sims, no true quali sims, mostly ran around doing a push lap then a charge lap. Leclercs lap in FP1 came after doing the push/charge about 5 times, so his tyres were certainly not in any sort of sweet spot.

Comparing Russell's performance in his mini race sim and Hamilton's 5 lap stint at the end of FP2, the major difference is deployment IMO, especially out of turn 2 and turn 10.

The other worrying thing is how much race pace they have been hiding. All good and well for Charles and Lewis to take 1/2 at the start. Russell will pass them in less than 2 laps.

Well IMHO Russell is no match for Charles wheel to wheel. So let's hope his inexperience in a championship battle shows itself. I'm sure Ferrari will cut that gap down.

With that pace difference, any car would be a sitting duck. You don't need wheel to wheel racing. Merc can overtake with pit stop strategy anytime. When did George get a chance to fight wheel to wheel as he never had a car for that. When he had a winning car, he got clean victories from pole to win. Limited wheel to wheel he has had, he has done wonderfully well. You just need to go back and check some videos.

Was this gap all down to PU dominance. Keen to see how the gaps compare with McLaren because this is ridiculous. I’m hoping it’s not 1s come q3 coz that’s just season over at least until June.

It would be typical of Ferrari to botch it now when it's looked so good all through testing and this weekend but lets see..
