I wouldnt say this is representative of their true pace, both drivers had battery issues that absolutely tanked their pace after Q1

Ferrari have build an amazing chassis if they are able to beat all the other team that use Mercedes PUs with extra horsepower, including McLaren.

In general sure but this weekend it clearly is not the 4th fastest. Leclerc would've been even more ahead of Piastri had they not been hampered by the deployment problems.

You guys need to remember that's if Mercedes doesn't pass the test, but unfortunately for the optimist, they look confident they'll pass it.

Also I doubt it's the extra horsepower, the W17's deployment and recharging capabilities should be taken notice by all plus they put 8 tenths on the leading Mclaren.

Ferrari have build an amazing chassis if they are able to beat all the other team that use Mercedes PUs with extra horsepower, including McLaren.

MB designed the engine for their chassis from start, this is the one but mainly MB had those engine much more time in tests were McLaren got it in Aussie and done only 3 FPs so expect McLaren to rise hard near them.

I believe they already pass the test if they are in 16.1 cold or hot and this is the trick but all the other manufacturers loose logically compression in hot conditions which is the normal way engines work. How to mitigate this? You cannot and ADUO is not enough.

I doubt that Mercedes' advantage lies solely on the compression trick specifically. That alone doesn't justify an 8-tenths difference. There's certainly an advantage in how the Mercedes PU delivers power through the power mapping the Mercedes team uses, which explains why other teams with Mercedes PUs didn't have exceptional performances as well. It's not just a difference in chassis performance either.

I have no hope the new engine testing rules will significantly nerf Mercedes this season.
