2017 as development year? and what a .f...k they do 3 years? play lego?...there is no change for mclaren to keep the top crew of the team ...its possible alonso or any other top driver or engineer to stay or come on this team ?...why? you think honda can develop the engine faster than other ?..3 year they cant tranfer ''safe'' solutions ..you know any other team which want honda engines?..not even free you know any sponsor for not ever complete the race team?...not even for free ...honda is far away for top level standars for f1 ...they need many many yearsmclaren111 wrote:MCL32 was started in middle 2015. If it is as good as McLaren think it is, then why wait until 2019.namao wrote:The most inteligent thing McLaren Honda have to do, if they want to win, is stop the current development of the MCL32 and MCL33, and invest all the resources to design, test and develop the 2019 car, with the engine in top of the list.
Those 2 years can be used to test for the 2019's car.
Take 2017 as development year (again due to Honda), and built / develop mega car for next year. Honda thinks this engine has the potential to beat the Merc engine.
yep Vandoorne should be on a plane to Japan to get into a Mule and run laps.Goran2812 wrote:Like wazari said, they left no time for testing in Honda, and this is the aftermath. My fear is that when they fix something, something else will fail because of lack of testing, and the wicked circle will continue...
Totally agree !!!!RS200E wrote:For the sake of balance of opinion, I think Honda will get much better by mid season. These calls of going back to Mercedes are ridiculous.

They can't because A. they have a contract with Honda in which B. Honda agreed to give McLaren an aweful lot of money on a yearly base. I very much doubt McLaren could do without the cashflow from Sakura, because Alonso alone is for 25M on the payroll of Honda.aleks_ader wrote:But if they want to compete they can just ditch Honda.
I agree here...they can bring a new spec in every race if they want to this year...after all if they start with this engine they will always start last...so no problem they can use as many engines as they want! And i also believe this engine is going to be better than Renault when they finally get it together!RS200E wrote:For the sake of balance of opinion, I think Honda will get much better by mid season. Even if Honda and McLaren would agree to cancel their contract and McLaren would be able to somehow manage to do without their money, than C. They would not be able to find a PU supplier on such a short note and D. They most likely would not be able to integrate the PU into the chassis in a couple of weeks.
All in all I think all people saying Honda should be ditched this season should think this a bit more through.
next year part of the engine development will be frozen? its correct this?...Chicane wrote:Hasegawa: We may even be further back, so that is very disappointing.

Ouch. That doesn't sound too promising.Chicane wrote:Hasegawa: We may even be further back, so that is very disappointing.
