Alonso left McLaren, they became front runners,Alonso left Alpine they got wings, Alonso left Aston in 26 they WC in 27 🤣
Alonso joined Aston and smoked Alpine with 8 podiums and beat them again last year. Don’t know what you are doing talking about McLaren since the last driver to leave them wasn’t even Alonso it was Sainz.

It's just sad to watch. I don't know when they want to bring some updates BUT if they end up not working, Aston is in some deep sh**. With no knowledge of how to improve this car how they will be able to build a good 2026 car?

Because Newey is in complete control of the 2026 car and is literally breathing, eating, and living at Aston Martin. Don't forget Cardile is coming too this summer.

I know that. All I am saying is that they clearly have problems with simulator/track correlation, for 2 seasons almost all updates are not working as they should.

Not doubting the correlation problems, and I have always been suspect of the value that simulators bring. As much as Alonso loves iRacing, even he doesn't spend much time in the simulator.

The new wind tunnel was never used on the 2025 car. A lot could turn around next season. Not sure if Andy Cowell is BSing the media, but he feels the new wind tunnel is a huge improvement over the one in Brackley.

“Simulator/track correlation issues” is that phrase that shows up a lot when a team just can’t figure out why their car is a boat on race day.

Yeah, even with fresher hards, Alo wasn't able to keep up with Hadjar. Last team, tied with Sauber. This is it.

It's a huge improvement in terms of efficiency, as it is in house and useable whenever they want (or have time left).

But let's not fool ourselves, the Mercedes wind tunnel is very solid, Mercedes finishes on the podium regularly. It's AMR and their guys who are obviously not able to do a job at the same level.

The new wind tunnel is just a tool, it still needs people (for ideas and knowledge) to build a fast car.
