i think to jump to mercedes for engine its the only way to save his life ....
I am not worried about reliability because sooner or later that will be solved....but SkyF1 says gap is 160hp now and Hasegawa also said hp gap is "scary".Wazari wrote:Just to clarify a couple of things, one I did NOT give up on Honda. I decided not to renew my contract due to personal reasons not related to Honda. Secondly, the translation of "traitor" is really not that accurate; it's meaning in this case is "rebel".
This spineless engineer believes this current PU in its current layout has tremendous potential and has XX% more peak power available than the 2016 PU and X% more efficient.
If this was first test in 2014 that wouldnt be scary. But if that is a gap after 3 years, then there is no hope, that gap cant be caught.GoranF1 wrote:I am not worried about reliability because sooner or later that will be solved....but SkyF1 says gap is 160hp now and Hasegawa also said hp gap is "scary".Wazari wrote:Just to clarify a couple of things, one I did NOT give up on Honda. Whats your comment on that?
Gap shouldnt be more than 60-80Hp for them to even have hope of wining in this engine formula.popovic94 wrote:If this was first test in 2014 that wouldnt be scary. Wow, are you suggesting the engine has a double digit percentage HP increase, or am I reading too much into the use of one or two X's? That would be very impressive. But all the more baffling given the performances in testing. The engine must be as detuned as an engine could be.Wazari wrote:Just to clarify a couple of things, one I did NOT give up on Honda. http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/ ... led-winterUnexpected vibrations from the Honda engine are causing McLaren's power unit to effectively shake itself into breaking down, Sky Sports understands.
....
The team, who had already endured an abject fortnight at Barcelona, completing the fewest number of laps and recording a fastest time three seconds adrift of the quickest lap, attributed Alonso's two on-track breakdowns on Friday to a 'a series of intermittent electrical issues'.
But it is understood that vibrations from the Honda engine are suspected to be the root cause of the outages.
"What's the issue with the engine? As far as I can glean, the issue is vibrations and so many vibrations that it is affecting the electrics and things are popping out left, right and centre," explained Sky F1's David Croft

I believe Croft did not made this up. It very well could be an anonymys insider commentary on the PU issues.RS200E wrote:Croft is the worst...
