F1 engine Vs boeing 747 Engine

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Str8up: You are a tiny bit off. Your numbers are for the entire vehicle and yes a 747 is a more efficient way of transporting things than an F1 car :D

This cannot be a legitimate comparison. Your comparison just tells us the jet engine is less fuel efficent. But then the Jet engine is less efficient that most other engines in many respects.
I think Jeppeson has it just about right ie a comparison based on how much work can be extracted. Though I agree other (better) comparisons can also be made.
