hahahaha And ya have these flapping in the breeze behind them???thisisatest wrote:the tear-offs could wrap all the way to the back of the helmet, just a thin piece of film like a leash. you tear one off and it flips to the side/back, out of the way but doesnt litter anything.
I feel it's more akin to cyclists dropping spent isotonic gel packages. At least spit is natural. And on a lot of the grand tour stages there are areas where the cyclists/teams are punished for dropping litter, combined with areas where they are encouraged to do so, to try and alleviate the pressures on the organisers of clearing up after them all.peanutaxis wrote:I've always thought throwing tearoffs out of the cockpit was bad form, like spitting on the sports field. All they need is a sticky strip to tack them to on the side of the cockpit.
Motocrossers sometimes use that system. It's called roll offs instead of tear offs.strad wrote:they have experimented with a roll sort of like on the in car TV cameras, but they were bulky and prone to failure.
I bet there are still some out there.
No need for an extra button – the TV cameras do this already. The problem is that even with a system like this, they can still get grimy.richard_leeds wrote:They'd need another button on the steering wheel....

And all that sand from those desert fly away races while we are at it.rjsa wrote:While we are at it we should take down all the trees surrounding race tracks: their leaves can be bigger and heavier than tearoffs ant the trees just can't help their nasty littering habit.
