Then I would also increase the severity of the penalties and would make it easy for the stewards to detect and quickly act on any violations of the sporting regulations. If this happened one day, I am sure all drivers would be much more careful with yellow flags. Instantaneous disqualification from the race would be a strong enough motive for any driver to avoid doing purple sector times under yellows by mistake, but only if they knew they would get caught and punished.

Agreed, it's a black flag offence when we're karting, why shouldn't this be echoed at the top? - If you lightly punish a driver, every other will push the limits. Again agreeing with the fact that the regulations should be enforced properly. We're going through daft times with the rules I think!
I'd also like to see some consistency across the board in terms of sporting regulations. Not just for the flags, but also in terms of what acceptable for overtaking etc...

Football has basically the same rules whether you are playing as a 12yo or professionally. Motorsport should do the same.

Again, I couldn't agree more. In the last few years we've seen GP2 and F1 standards of rules enforcement and driving slip quite a bit. I believe, though that the driving is a direct link with absolutely terrible enforcement and drivers are just pushing because they know they'll get a slap on the wrist and then move on with it.

Cool, I've "operated" it and never knew it's called like that :) The system is a relatively low price one, given that many small teams cannot afford super expensive technology. For F1 the possibilities are a lot more diverse.

The learning curve of the drivers is incredible. During Quali, some cars received penalties including the later winner. Those cars never appeared on the list again. In the last race of the VLN there were close to zero violations. It certainly makes life safer for the marshals.
