Those are struts, seen better in this picture.

They appear to serve two purposes. First is mechanical, in which they support the large flip up in front of the rear tires. Secondly, aero, they deflect air into the chassis, away from the tires.

I have to say I like the noise of the V8! It's not tooo different from the V10, but it sounds slightly more harsh (as you'd expect with less combustions per second) I could listen to either all day though :D

Well five more days, I think I'll survive that.
It's quite nice to see my favourite team to be one of the first to roll out their new car, completely fitted with new V8 engine and so on...

McLaren is going to roll theirs out in 2 weeks time also, so that's not such a big difference.

Anyway, when a car launches please start a new topic if there isn't one already. And please do so in General ;) - thanks

It's getting close....and to quote Dr Frankenfurter.. "I quiver with .. anticipation."
The V-8's have been designed and built. Mechanical and cooling systems have been tested, and soon we shall see the complete package.. all the bits apart from the latest aero tweaks will be there and on the track.
The 12th of March is coming upon us soon, and for one, I just can't wait.
