I am sure there's a few BAR/Hondas at Brackley that will come at a very reasonable price these days.

I doubt Honda will dispose of any of the cars - other than perhaps the 2009 model, which (if it races) will of course no longer be a Honda.

As a company, Honda have always been proud of their heritage and their museum maintains all their old racers in running condition. The only cars they don't have are the original RA302 (destroyed in Schlesser's fatal crash) and one of the RA301s, which was retained by John Surtees.

In the early 80s, there was this gentleman from Switzerland who managed to register a Porsche 917K in Alabama(!), saw a picture with plates and all.
Only modification was a muffler as I can recall.

I saw a 1972 Ferrari 312B2 on sale. Curious i contacted the guy. Said it would cost me 1 million british pounds !!!!!!!!!!
Said he had the Ferrari classiche Certificate of Authenticity, as well as FIA papers blah blah blah.......
