I'm sick off this damn world cup, but if I have to pick sides I'd go for Italy. I'm told I should support England, but then again the people telling me this will all be in jail if England make the semis

What annoys me most is that the F1 is being affected, despite its prestige and the fact that grand prixs have been around longer than the world cup. Bah.

Does that half our schedule change really bothers you? :D

Anyway, I think it's excellent, and I mostly support teams I don't really know, such as Trinidad&Tobago or those orange guys from Ivory coast.

That is however when France or Holland don't play ;)
What an amazing misfortune for Cissé though... I really think they have a really really good team, some very experienced people there but still not the "old" world cup winning team anymore. Gooo Thierry Henry ;)

As for England sucking...well Brazil are the odds on favourites to win with the bookies giving them a 9/4 odds. BUT WAIT...LOOK...WHO'S the bookies 2nd favourite???

Oh yes I do believe its England! hehe :D  (6/1 odds btw)

Footballs's Comming Home...
I always get a good laugh when I listen to all the experts talking about the odds in the Stanley Cup play-offs. They always pretend to know something, and in the end, they end up looking retarted. The point is that, anything can happen (remember Greece (Euro '04), S. Korea (World Cup '02), Croatia (World Cup '98), Denmark (Euro '94), etc.). Here is an even better proof - read this article...even a monkey knows better than our over-paid experts:

P.S. Go, Italy....
Funny how Brazil (often the favourites) have won it so often then isnt it? No need to called me retarted for stating an opinion mate, didn't really think that was quite nessecary. Can't really blame me for getting patriotic for my country when we so often under-perform.

With regards my last post, I meant to say we quality from our group, not TOP of the group lol. Soz.

Speaking of Cisse Tomba, its amazing isnt it how "fragile" his shins seem to be, it seems not so long ago be broke his leg before! Terribly unfortunate, I bet he feels terrible, poor guy.

The french team's chances are fragile, they depend very strongly on if Henry can deliver the goods. Seeing as Cisse is out, Trezeguet is loosing his finishing touch (in my opinion anyway) and Zidane is starting to show his age.

Still early days though.

The World Championship is made to be won by a latinamerican team: it is too short to be taken by method alone. It can be taken by force by Germany, because they are at home (for example, all championships played in America have been won by latinamericans, ehem).

I confess I do not follow the european championship, but, guys, be realistic and impartial, like myself  : it is down to Brasil vs Argentina.

I understand you: maybe you have not seen Carlitos Tévez playing. I think (I hope!) you will.

@Tom: I think the cricket championship has been around longer than F1 and they are not complaining. :)

Anyway, here you have the "3964 theory" of the World Championship, specially made for engineers. I will demonstrate Brazil will be the champion:

1. Brasil won the 1994 championship. Before that, they won the 1970 world cup.
Add 1970 + 1994 = 3964

2. Argentina won its last world cup in 1986. Before that, they won the 1978 championship.
Add 1978 + 1986 = 3964

3. Germany won his last world cup in 1990. Before that, they won the 1974 championship.
Add 1974 + 1990 = 3964

4. Brasil won again in 2002, which is totally logic, because if we add 1962 (year when Brasil was champion) + 2002 = 3964. This meant Brasil had to win and they did.

5. So, if you want to prophesize about the 2006 championship, you should substract like this:

Substract 3964 - 2006 = 1958

This year the world champion was.... Brasil. QED.

6. The most important thing, for colombian fans, is that we have a motive to be happy: WE WILL WIN THE 3964 World Championship!

Because 0 + 3964 = 3964.

We only have to wait 489 championships!!! This is exactly 1958 years. Brasil was world champion in 1958. So we will win the final against Brasil.

Numbers do not lie!

At least in World Cup money is not directly proportional to success.

Amazing that Australia won! It took so long for the first goal, but a they deserved to win! Guus Hiddink has done it again! A team that has done nothing before on the World Cup and now wins it first match. (Remember what happened to South-Korea 4 years again? They made it to the semi-finals) They don't call Hiddink the magician for nothing!!

The USA will probably be a boring match, though Czechia is a good team (Pavel Nedved ).

Can't wait for Italy tonight! Too bad Gatuso is injured.

(All the boys on the forum must think I'm crazy. I'm a girl and I love football and F1  )

Czechia always does well on the World Cup or during the European Championship. Too bad Koller was injured again. He was injured for 10months and it seems that it is the same injury. Hopefully it isn't and can he come back during the World Cup.

Nedved and Rosicky were brilliant again. Czechia is one of the outsiders to win the World Cup as usual. Great footballplayers!!

Less than an hour to go for Italy :P

What I don't understand, is when that Italian bloke got tackled, he was on the floor screaming in pain, he was even stretchered off, next minute he's running up and down the pitch, he even scores a goal WTF!?! Like the fastest recovery in the world!!
