Alpine A525 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Well, the nose is different, as it does't connect to the leading element of the front wing as it did last year.
They did run a nose like this at the end of last year (like the last two races and maybe only on one car). No idea if they changed it again, though.

Re-using last year's Chassis sounds rather awkward - can't imagine that, especially as their Performance was not that great even in the end.
If that indeed was true, I cannot see them moving up the Picking order.
They reused the 2019 tub in 2020 when that was supposed to be the final year of the regs, until covid caused then delay of the new rules from 2021 to 2022. So they used the 2019 chassis for three years and I remember there being some talk about that at the time. They improved from 2019-2020, so it's not impossible, but probably limits the scope for development slightly (although I'm not sure if you have to do the crash test again if you keep the same tub; maybe not).

Alpine already seem to have their eggs in the 2026 basket more than most teams. I'd say that's a smart move but they put all of their eggs in the 2017 basket in 2016 and then in the 2022 basket in 2020/21 and both times didn't make any real gain on the frontrunners. So who knows with the 376th different management/technical structure if this time they will be more successful.
