Haas VF-25

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I tried to highlight in yellow what I mean (compare to post above with un-annotated version); I looked at other cars of this generation and can't seem to find anything exactly like this. These teams are really looking for incremental gains at this point.
Mercedes definitely had a wing with this endplate detail for some of the practice sessions last year. Don't know if they ever raced it though.

They did. Merc brought it at imola last year to the w15

Haas have simply followed in their footsteps with this RW design

I'm surprised you didn't pay attention that Mercedes ran this endplate detail for the rest of the season for all races with their Medium and Low DF wing offerings. Also, in Monaco when they brought their new High DF wing. :wtf:

Seeing that endplate reminds me of Ross Brawn claiming the FIA and F1 would remove developments that went “against the spirit of the regulations” and produced too much outwash, and what he must be thinking seeing things like this

I recall his description of asking FIA if they thought the rules were good enough when leading to the double diffuser they'd already thought of .... they thought that the written word was watertight

I do like these developments in "licks and flicks" on the cars. Some very nice detail work there from the Haas team.

The VF-18 louvered sidepod deflectors spring to mind - I believe they were an original idea by Haas that was soon picked up by other teams.

Haas is running a very different diffuser edge than anything I've seen. A quite prominent lip or flange along with a very small mouse-hole. I wonder if the diffuser volume is narrower than normal and the lip goes to the edge of the legality box?
