miqi23, fundamentally true, but this complete imbalance was created when Sadam was desposed and a structure of law, political will, and military balance was destroyed. This regional perspective is true, and relevant, but it fails to answer the question.. why is the US there? Not to bring law and order, they were the ones who created this power vacuum. Oil.
Back when Sadam invaded Kuwait, it was obvious he was also poised to take over Saudi Arabia. And after that, Iran was next on Sadam's wish list. Now if you add up Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, you suddenly have control of the great majority of all the world's oil exports. It's a huge percentage.

I agree with you Dave 100%, no doubt about it what so ever. Come on you would never see US admitting why are they there ;) that would never happen Dave.

Did you hear that phrase where the guy is saying that the US troops are there to stop Sunnis and Shias fight lol... Atleast one thing was answered that those Suicide bombers come from Saudi and not Iran... also he fussed about Syria being on of them which is BS...he did not mention the pact between Syria and Iran...

The sad part, and something we should never lose sight of (despite our differences) is that caught in the middle of all this sectarian and criminal violence, are the innocents. Just ordinary Joes who basically just want to earn enough to support their familes, and of course, the totally innocent children.
Bullets, bombs, it doesn't matter who's doing it, or responsible, is that innocents suffer and die daily.

Iraq war again? How come? There is another thread on that. miqi: nice, "impartial" video but a little less explanatory than it could have been. Dave points to who pulled the trigger. Not everything is "internal dynamics", if you get what I mean.

I'm talking about bad bussiness decisions by USA that could eventually make the country go broke, or, without going into doomsday predictions, impair severely its vehicle industry. Here you have another one, related with cars and transportation:

Interstates for sale: tolls to double in Indiana in 2008
http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature ... aymen.html

Kilcoo316: thanks, I agree, I knew, that's the origin of my "prediction" about Iran's position. Here you have another Mother Jones news, happening right now:

Big oil companies get places in Iraq's National Oil Board

Of course Iran is watching this.

"Ronald Reagan won the cold war by bankrupting the Soviet Union. No planes flew. No tanks rolled. No armies marched."
Richard Viguerie, conservative activist and fund raiser.

All I wonder is if America's adversaries learned this basic lesson taught by Reagan.

Yep, now they are after Iran and poking their stick up them as well... Scared of their Nuclear program they are pushing hard on sanctions big time and I think UN today Okayed it.

Man, what ever is happening is no good. I just wonder at times, why has the US have to have thousands of Nuclear weapons and non of the other countries can have it? And yet if some one tries to get it the US make a move in the name of peace and liberty to impose sanctions on them and yet US is the biggest peace distorter on this planet...

Umm, let's see..... Uncle Bin and al-Qaeda invested just a couple of millions of dollars and nineteen volunteers and as a direct result of their actions the US has spent trillions of dollars and thousands of their soldier's lives. Speaking without bias, a darn good return on the investment.

The message that came out of the WW2 Nurburgring War Crimes trials was that saying you were just following orders was not acceptable, each individual was personally responsible for their crimes. Yet on a too regular basis, I see comments from police or troops that "i was just following procedures" after some child was gunned down.
It's scary, but brutal fascism is very much alive and doing very well.

Dave, what are your comments on the movie? Frankly speaking I was surprised about the IRS...
