ahh, but the flag pole must always be on the left, so we'd still be able to tell, after all, you'd know if we turned the stars and stripes on its head.

Traditionally, when you fly your flag upside-down it signals you are in distress. I've heard somewhere that some clever Britons did that once, when forced by his captors to keep the flag flying to avoid alerting the british reinforcements arriving. So, next time you attack (or reinforce, as the case may be) the British fort, keep a keen eye on the flag! :)

Nice one Dave. Forgot about the Aussies. I've been there and at 5 o'clock everybody but the cops, fire department, and hospital staff are at the bar drinkin'. I always wanted to go back. Now that they are in the Atlantic, I can go for much cheaper! :lol:
