Well then I say the best 2007 car is STR02 :)

PS: you're being.... [-X okay we all have a bad day once in a while...

Myself I'm not too charmed with the way that wingy-thingy looks (at least now - and it's not even painted) but I agree with mrmr. There's nothing in the FIA Technical Regulations about beauty as far as I'm aware. Correct me if I'm wrong. So banning new things on this basis is nothing but CHEATING by the FIA, FOM etc.
Sometimes they take really strange decisions. Like mass-dampers = moving aero element  it never interferred with the airflow! They can aswell ban RS26 engine as it has moving parts inside that influence car balance (through vibration)

Looking back at McLaren I have to say that even if it seems ugly for some, it's DIFFERENT, which is a rare case in modern F1 with all it's restrictions. Diversity is what I appreciate a lot.

In terms of publicity, glamour etc. - I wonder what Vodafone would choose among these 2 options:
  • - Title winning ugly monster
    - Race winning beauty
???

It's a rethorical question IMHO :|

PS: I'm sure if FW26-"I am the walrus"-car would become title winning, there would be plenty of ppl considering it beautiful

cheers,
Den

Aesthetic of cars? All cars are horrible... some less than others. They are noisy, smell awful, get dirty. The older the car the more patent it is. Cars are unnatural things, contraptions covered in steel or fiber. You have to train yourself to see beauty in a car. They require huge swaths of concrete or asphalt to ride in that destroy landscape. The most (the only!) beautiful parts of the world I know have no cars. I dream of a city where I can sit in the floor and that doesn't devote 90% of public space to them. They kill millions of people, they are destroying slowly but surely our beloved planet. I like to drive, but that doesn't make them, cars, beautiful... unless you believe in the beauty of external things. Some day, the sooner the better, cars will be as quaint as armours.

M-m-m... I didn't train mysef but... I was in love with these beauties ever since I remember myself... and before that too (parents say), even though I realize how destructive they are. Am I an addict or just a freak?

Honda are going from the sublime to the ridiculous! if these pics im seeing of these new aero drag increasing ears are for real, their wind tunnel is definately broken.

Honda, take it all off & start again. All your doing is digging a deeper hole.

Haha, well I dont have a degree in aero your right, but would they have tried the 'ears' solution in the real world & spent money fabbing it, if it hadnt worked in tunnel?

Tested for real, scrapped the same day, ergo 1 broken wind tunnel.

If you have more technical info then share......Its just logic to me.
