Re last few posts...

Of course I've driven before, I had a Metro when I was 13 I used to hare up and down the field in 8)
It had its down sides though. I spent the first few lessons basically unlearning all the rubbish I had picked up from racing round cones etc.

I'm not planning on getting a car for now, far too expensive and the uni I'm aiming for doesn't allow student in university housing to own cars as the city is congested enough as it is. I think I'll get a scooter though, get some no-clains-bonus.
Its not all bad though, I'm in my mums Peugeot 306 for now, which I've just done alot of work on to get it through its MoT (new brakes, tyres, arbs) and I know, should I need it, it will stop bloody quick!*

As far as dui-ing goes, lets not even look there, I avoid drinking anyway, I'm not going to stop now!

*n.b. the brakes were getting well heated just today, someone in a Focus inc. bodykits and a headsize exhaust pulled out cms in front of me, I just had chance to swerve out his way and he proceeded to follow me for the next 600m before overtaking me at well over 100km/h round the outside of a corner! But its ok, I know what I did wrong, I forgot to take my L plates off.

306 dt's are great for beginners, fuel economy great, insurance group 5 only, 90+ bhp and easy tunned.

Never drink and drive... never... consequences are ugly and theres no going back.

There are always idiots on the road, many of those are mummys and daddys boys who bought them new GTI's then they show off... ignore them because they don't know much about cars. That ofoucrse doesn't apply to everyone as well, but you know...

If you can afford it's best to go on a track days and properly enjoy your self and have fun while racing legaly and learning how the car behaves and so on. It's fun.

on the road, drive safe
The trouble with the rat-race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.

The best advice is one hand around the girl, the other hand out of the window and drive using your knees/thighs :)
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.
