you for the read, Modbaraban. And Roland, I agree, JC has elevated "annoyingness" to something approaching an artform. That's one of his media and he knows how to make use of it too ... I can vaguely remember him discussing an early episode of Saxondale with Steve Coogan. In it, an obviously Clarkson-esque character gets described as a "bit of a d*ck" ... Jeremy's comment was something along the lines of: "Upon hearing that I looked towards my wife and she nodded approvingly." He succeeds in managing TV programming on a scale unfathomable to the imagination of most people, and a bunch of other stuff. His temperament is obviously very different from mine, but despite the annoyance of his sometimes sardonic and very subjectively focussed public delivery, I find him to be quite interesting nonetheless.
