KERS and the Race Start

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

How would you use KERS as psuedo traction control? Such a system would be difficult to detect, but the TC ban is pretty comprehensive.

To handle the "peaks" during the start? Without TC throttle "handling" is an art. Gimme some time, I'll read the rules and report back to the forum. My guess is that it must be forbidden.

1) KERS can only be engaged after 100km/h
2) You must be using full-throttle as it is engaged (or - more over - it will only engage when full throttle is applied)

So...that sort of rules it out ;)
