He's 34 in October. Personally he doesnt strike me as someone who will happily drift down the grid to stay involved.

Going to RB for a couple of years would make sense IMO, with perhaps Raikonnen & Vettel moving on for 2016.

It it's true, then I suppose RB is definitely in talks about Raikkonen. And why wouldn't they... All in all, although RIC & JEV impressed the bejezus out of me on their Young Driver tests back in the days, they don't impress in the Toro Rosso. Neither in pure speed, nor in pure racecraft. If I'd have to choose one, I'd say RIC, but if there would be other options like RAI... Then they don't stand a chance tbh.

The sad thing about it is, you don't have a clue about how bad that TR is. If they would want to give the young drivers an absolutely fair and equal benchmark, then they should both get a test-session vs. Vettel or Webber, in the same RB.

At the same time, though the RB6 made Vergne look dominant at the young driver test. No one knows how good/bad the torro rosso is, for all we know their car could be alright, but the current drivers just can't get it to the limit?

This probably isn't the case, and if Webber leaves I'd put Ricciardo in that seat. I'd love to see Raikonnen in there, though. I think someone needs to show Vettel what a better driver can do in the same car :)

Vergne has been by a distance the better driver in race trim of the STR drivers IMO. With him prioritising race over qualifying, he'd be the perfect teammate for Vettel. Not going to challenge him for poles, can race his rivals letting Vettel gap.

Kimi is not a typical F1 driver who enjoy the glam of F1 life. I could be wrong, but I think Kimi will only continue in F1 car if he still has the fire for it.

I actually think RBR might have already started some kind of discussion with Kimi for 2014, and thats the reason why RBR has public mentioned Kimi as a potential driver for 2014. A way to tell other teams to forget about Kimi in their plans.

While I don't think Vettel is as good as Alonso or Hamilton or maybe even Raikonnen... and I don't particularly care for him as a human being, he is a three time world champion and thats not solely due to the car. Nobody is going to come into the team and make him look bad. That's just wishful thinking.

perhaps you might want to add what Vettel is supposec to do in order to convince you that he is as good as alonso or hamilton?

He should join McLaren and partner Button. If he gets outscored by Button after 3 years, maybe he will look much better! or he might try being beaten by a rookie. That would help too.

If Kimi joins Red Bull, it will be nice to see if one of the other champions can proof they are as good as Vettel.

I doubt we'll ever get a clean view on that....if Kimi came to RedBull and would be smashed by Seb people would claim Kimi needs time to adapt.

If Kimi wipes the floor with Seb the new regs would be blamed and that they do not suit Seb's driving style.

I'd like to see somebody like Glock or Sutil next to Vettel. Both deserve a car that can win races on its own.

I don't think going to the political minefield that is RBR would suit Räikkönen at all - fast car or no.

To whit, Webber, who has been portrayed as quite enjoying the occasional political mind game with his team mates, is not exactly getting to grips with it despite all his public outbursts and allegedly short communication lines with Mateschitz himself. What hope would Räikkönen have of maintaining a balanced team when he isn't interested in that sort of nonsense?

I hope he sticks with Lotus and manages to drag it further up the field by performing as he is (helped by Grosjean), thereby convincing both everyone working for the team and sponsors alike that they are a top team, thus turning that into a self-fulfilling prophecy when more money becomes available with resulting performance enhancements etc.

Vettel will be number 1 driver and his ego will be the number 2.

I think the key thing here is to find someone who'd not look upset having finished second after following a Multi-12 order.
