In these pictures I note that the W08 seems to have some ducting exit around the exhaust pipe, but the W09 does not. This might explain why the W09's exit ducting appears to have a greater area.zioture wrote: ↑26 Feb 2018, 19:14https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DW-edMYWkAAcbK-.jpg

Waste gates; W09 has them too- have a closer look.zac510 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 19:32In these pictures I note that the W08 seems to have some ducting exit around the exhaust pipe, but the W09 does not. Are those blisters on the rear tires?
They are indeed, and that’s worrying with such low temperatures.
Is it really a proper indication though? The weather isn't really helping, and probably gives some skewed resultsScrewCaptain27 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 20:36They are indeed, and that’s worrying with such low temperatures.
It's not, actually - the tires are being operated in a temperature window far below their intended specifications, so it is normal and expectedScrewCaptain27 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 20:36They are indeed, and that’s worrying with such low temperatures.
It's not worrying at all, the reason they're blistered is because of such low temperatures that they can't get the tyres workingScrewCaptain27 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 20:36They are indeed, and that’s worrying with such low temperatures.
Sorry I don't know what you mean - the wastegate itself is attached to the turbine housing or the manifold. Do you mean the wastegate pipes?George-Jung wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 20:22Waste gates; W09 has them too- have a closer look.zac510 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 19:32In these pictures I note that the W08 seems to have some ducting exit around the exhaust pipe, but the W09 does not. Than my bad, misread your initial post.zac510 wrote: ↑27 Feb 2018, 22:44Sorry I don't know what you mean - the wastegate itself is attached to the turbine housing or the manifold. Do you mean the wastegate pipes?
Either way the bodywork is tight around the W09 exhaust pipe and wastegate pipes and not on the W08. And yes I did have a closer look, reviewed some photos from last year!
