White is absolutely a Honda colour. Championship White to be exact. The Earth car isn't a Honda colour, it was a gimmick. Also to say McLaren don't have a colour is like saying Ferrari don't have a colour. McLaren has several colours just like Ferrari.

Looking forward to what they come up with. It will need to be something that stands out. This years chrome and black didn't stand out well at all. If they whack some red on it again it will work.
Manoah2u wrote:Well, Mclaren originally ran papaya orange,
they ran white-red, they ran white-yellow,
they ran grey-black-red

they ran silver

despite the fact there has been more non-colors than actual colours,
there's still the general truth that Mclaren themselves don't genuinly have a 'color'.
Ferrari is red and allways will be red.

Obviously, for marketing's sake, Mclaren will prefer to be recognisable on tv and in the crowd.
Mclaren didn't particularly like HRT's color and Sauber's colors in the past as they themselves stated
they sometimes get 'confused' with these teams. As hard as i found that to believe (it shocked me) -
it was in an interview and iirc Whitmarsh replied to a BBC interview - I'll take their words for it.

That means then that Mclaren would prefer to be easily spotted. I'd say the past years grey-silver was
very simple solution. However, with Mercedes now running the greyish colour, an untrained eye can
have trouble seeing the difference between a merc and a mclaren.

This leads me to believe Mclaren will be eyeing a livery change in the not-too-distant future, perhaps
as early as 2015 since the change from Mercedes engines to Honda engines will bring a good start for
more then just engine change.

Now is white really a Honda colour? If we look at the earthdreams livery, then clearly it's not. the White
in the Honda team before was due to the BAR Tobacco brand colours.

Mclaren in the 80's and early 90's was white-red because of the Marlboro sponsorship, and it was easily
recognisable.

Would Mclaren go in 2015 for a white livery? Who knows, but they run the risk of getting confused with Williams
now. Blue runs the risk of RedBull confusion. Keeping gray (perhaps they can't even use it anymore due to Merc
contract issues, who knows) doesnt seem like a parmount given anymore either. Red? Never. Yellow is too remiscent
of Renault.

I'd say we could actually have a greater chance of seeing Orange Mclarens in 2015 then any of the former years.
And the colour of the teamwear doesn't mean a thing, they can wear total whites and still have an orange car,
just as they can have an all white car and all orange teamwear.

This does look cool though

Orange Mclarens just look awesome

how about a GULF Mclaren Honda Livery?

We'll see.

I just think it'd be better if we finally gotten something to know about the 2015 Drivers.
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

For me the car is going to be white and black, with room for blue or any color logos of Movistar or Santander.

This year's livery with white in place of the chrome might look quite good...

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

quiet a good outcome actually. Good experianced line up whilst keeping Kmag too for the future was just as important imo, keeping him in the team he will learn a lot from watching alonso and button.

Very strong line up for next year which will help for constructors championship. I will be interested on which of the two comes out on top I think it will be Alonso. I'm sure JB will be happy that he is against another top driver it was one of the main reasons he joined the team.

Last few seasons I have just had faith in McLaren that they can do a good job. This year I have a stronger basis.

This photo says it all! Ron took Alonso's side, Honda guy took Button's side and poor Kevin found himself in the middle of it! :D

Good choice by mclaren. You can't go wrong with alonso either way, then keeping button for some continuity also can't be that bad. Especially when you have to pick between him and magnussen.

McLaren-Honda is delighted to announce its new driver line-up for 2015: Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. Kevin Magnussen will remain an important part of the team, as test and reserve driver.

All three men will play crucial roles in re-establishing.... etc etc
Nice touch to put Magnussen in the middle of the photo, also the comment about being an important part of the team. Unfortunately with the reality of testing restrictions his role is rather limited.

Don't be shocked if Viceroy and Oakley announce a partnership with Mclaren in the next few months alongside Movistar.
