Ferrari with an upgrade have clearly progressed, McLaren are the best, Mercedes were always quicker. We are where we should be.

Didnt you see it all about the tyres, what is Alpine doing in p5 and nowhere in the last races. Some teams will grain softs quicker then others, when going full in Q3 that is crucial. Red Bull destroys the tyres up to end of S2, Mclaren can keep the tyres alive. In the race the deg will be a lot lower, the hards will be the best race tyre. Norris the leader is just 1 place ahead of Max, P7 today is ok just because of that. Dont forget we fought for the pole in China, Australia, Japan. But the alarms will ring if we are not at least back on the second row in Saudi Arabia.

Let's see. I mean, Max said he didn't have any brakes. He couldn't push. I watched the lap. It was very conservative. Lifted into T2 instead of letting it snap, waited a long time before getting back on the gas in T4, braked early for T8.

Maybe it goes better tomorrow...I think they can beat the Alpine.

Quite clearly the car was not in a good window. I wouldn’t judge the relative performance too much because of that. Luckily Norris bottled it so not the worst case scenario in the championship, tomorrow will be about trying to follow him up the order.

To be honest, if he keeps this up, it won't really matter at some point. Oscar is shaping up to be the main contender for the title. Bit surprising because he was lacking quite a bit of speed to Lando last year, however he has taken a pretty big step this season it seems (or Lando somehow got worse).

How are they unable to fix this obvious problem? I don't get it.

The way you describe it is so scary. Praying the car on high fuel is more drive-able. Yeah getting Gasly should be a decent start for tomorrow and maybe with luck we can keep Hamilton behind as well.

Oscar seems a more credible WDC contender than Lando anyways looking at this season so far.
Yeah, amazing how Lando keeps cracking under pressure. Unless the flexi wing crackdown shakes things up, Oscar seems like the most likely champ.

Piastri has taken a step, that much is clear by now. It's makes sense, drivers in general improve a lot in their 3-4 season, I'd say more even than in second and this pattern is evident with piastri.

I'm probably delusional but I think a P4 is possible for Max, M-H-H full push 57 laps and then let's see where that gets us.

It won’t matter if RB don’t find performance anyways. For now it’s just about staying close, and then it’s better that Piastri is ahead.

Yeah, looking at the telemetry is mostly losses because of low tire grip from overheating, at turn 11 Max is around 0.180 down on PIA after that it keeps getting worse, losing 0.400 in the next 4 corners alone. Red bull needs to sort out this tire overheating problem they have, it is probably one of their biggest problems currently, even more so than the downforce and handling deficit.
