Yes so as long as HRT don't give up trying I am going to be a fan ! 8-[
Also being an HRT fan has a factor of suspense that no other team provides, is really fun, What will be the piece missing today? Will they spend all PF3 building a car? etc... is really fun (and frustrating), but where is the fun if there's no mistery

I know what you mean, I don't really know what kind of team principal Perez Sala will be like but last year I liked how Kolles was so straight to the point never afraid to speak his mind. I don't think we will see anything like what happened in Melbourne. I think it would be even more embarrassing for Marussia if HRT beat them again this year. Anything can happen who knows HRT & Marussia could both beat Caterham , now that would be a real embarasment!!!

Yes FP1 looks like another bad one Pedro was off the pace after 18 laps and Narains gearbox failed after 8 . Not good why cant things get easier !

Dani Clos mentioned on Spanish TV that both cars were focusing on race pace... So surely they will be closer to Glock/Pic? At one point Pedro was .5 behind Pic and towards the end I think Marussia did quali run on Glock.

narain:1.43.658
pedro:1.43.823

need atleast 1 second to compete with the marusia's .
NOTE:marusia has already P14 so it would be very difficult for HRT if they dont run KERS and start bringing new parts.

At least today was a pretty normal practice day, which for HRT is a victory in itself. Main concern is lack of traction, but that is what most teams are struggling with. It seems they are ok to make the qualifying cut, but Marussia is not at reach so far.

That's actually remarkably clever of KH7 choosing that spot to advertise. They're gambling on the fact that the only time you'll see this car is when it's being overtaken by a front runner, so you'll see it from behind on the on-board cameras.

I for one am very happy with HRT's FP2 times, still think they will be quicker still in Q1.

Some calculations for you on the 107% times!...

FP1 Pole Time: 1'38'021s
FP1 107% Time: 1'44'882s
FP1 HRT Quickest Time: 1'45'360s
Difference: +'448s

FP2 Pole Time: 1'38'172s
FP2 107% Time: 1'45.044s
FP2 HRT Quickest Time: 1'43'658s
Difference: -1'386s

Hypothetically for HRT's 1'43'658s in FP3 or Q1 not to be quick enough would take a Pole Time of 1'36'877s

HRT will race on Sunday if things don't go wrong, even if they don't HRT is in a better position to ask the stewards to race. I really hope the cooling wont be a problem. Fans have been digesting so much bad news over the last weeks its such a relief to see the car finally running.

it won't come down to the stewards, even if it did, they have set times that are within 107%... so will be allowed to race.

I recon they will make the 107% rule weather dependant.

They are still using the Hungary 2011 front wing, and dont have under nose turning vaynes and bardgeboards and a decent enough exhaust solution. Not to mention KERS. And Perez Sala has mentioned they are looking at a posible B Spec of the F112 so they can lighten the car as well.

I recon they can find 2.5 seconds over the season for this car in updates. As long as they say go to Hungaroring with the last update, then a second can be found with mechanichal evolution alone to the end of the season.

This car has potential, i think thats why PdlR is in the car. He is gonna be testing the car at every point he can, if they can get into the race on Sunday, the team will have up to 56 laps (if they stay on the lead lap) to test the car.
Cars have bargeboards and under nose vanes, the shakedown car was incomplete, but they do have the parts now. It's a little bit worrying that the complete car is not showing a decent pace, I expected better, but it's too early to judge if the car is a fiasco or not. New improved nose, and maybe a monkey seat as other teams are using will help, let's see if by the european break they can manage some upgrades.

HRT fp3 times look ok!!!!
Pedro seems to be taking the fight to the marusia's, just .4 seconds adrift.
But it seems Narain would have to be consistent to match pedro, he seems to get only 2 sectors right for every lap.

Narain was also telling that hrt have nor run the car for more than 4 laps together, today he managed 5 laps which is the maximum for f112.

Hoping they finish the race and get some data.
