BTW, do they still do the team's raft race across the rowing lake? It was one of the weekend's events in Montreal shown in old F1 season reviews. If not - when do these races stopped?

The wet weather could hamper Pirelli's plan to test the tires.

It looks that RBR think that the new tire structure would benefit them, see Autosport article: “Sebastian Vettel criticises delay to new Pirelli tires”, although it’s disguised as a safety issue (as usual).

I don't think it's necessary for Pirelli to have to cart round even more tires to be honest, more tires just doesn't seem to affect the team's program that much. There were some extra tires in Spain and that didn't change much..
3 days of continuous rain is pretty rare.

Looking at Meteoblue, they have tomorrow as a washout, Saturday drier and the possibility of showers in the race window.

Suspect its going to be very changeable all weekend.

It's been raining three days straight where I live.

It's really not that uncommon during the middle of spring in temperate weather. The remaining cold weather systems mixing with the new warm weather systems leads to heavier macro condensation which is typically expressed as water precipitation. In a very general sense.

I don't see veterans non veterans distinction. In this particular press conference: no comment twice, Pic disagrees, and Van der Garde's view quoted above is rather level-headed. In general F1 drivers especially when not directly involved are more laid back (or diplomatic) about situations like this one. They could also easily laugh at Trulli in 2009 Brazil, dangerous situation but not their races ruined.

It helps when Monaco incidents were simply blown out of proportion by one driver shouting, the other being sour and as usual one-sided journalists and audience calling for blood. It's interesting how profile of drivers involved changes attention and generates "care" for driving standards. When towards the end of the last season Perez time and time again did much worse things no one seemed to care.

They are still running on inters in FP1. No test of the new tyres yet.

And now Vergne is running the new test tyre. with 20 min remaining.
Alonso, Massa and Perez join him with 13 min left, while Button, Grosjean, Kimi, Hülkenberg and Vettel are testing the white racing slicks.
Button goes P1 with 5 min remaining on primes.

im annoyed, there's a press conference going on and no one has seemed to mention the race yet, you know the race that they are at and just had two practice sessions. its all about test gate, im bored of this now they are saying the same things that have been said over and over again. Is the sport really that boring, you could have stories about Buttons gear box or Di resta's good chances and problems as well or Alonso and Hamilton doing well and how close this race may be between the top four teams, but no testgate testgate TESTGATE!!!, talk about that when the tribunal happens nothing more will happen at this weekend the media should focus on the race.
