If you read the rules ringo, there is nothing banning the 3rd element on the rear wing.
No point in the sidepods as a cross section there are 2 curves, as 1 stops, the other starts, which makes it legal.
can you post the specific rule.
For Sure!!

Bad news guys. Formula Sketch class the side impact structures as bodywork, so we'll need to edit the floor. They also say the rear wing is against the spirit of the regulations, so we will have to amend this also.

unlucky, simple thing to do,,, remove the 3rd profile, and fill in the slot on the floor, did they say anything about your sidepods?

Yep, it's a relatively easy fix. Everything else they have said is legal as far as they can see, including sidepods

My work on this car is done and dusted,

I think I'll be starting something relating to 2014 soon, and working with Godsire to get some pretty CFD, and maybe look at comparing current regs to the new regs.

Should be fun.

Can't believe the amount of attention and quality of the final car we got out of it!

How much down force over the car?
That's the next task.

I don't know if we have the PC power to run it!

One way out: lower crash structure level with the step plane; extradox made out of vertical+ 50mm radius + horizontal surfce; intradox as they please.

Instead: higher crash structure shaded by flat floor; the structure should be high enough not to compormise too much winglet flow.

I do not know about complinca with the crash stucture fairing not.closed.section rule

Ok guys, updates are in!

My previous rear wing issues were down to this:
3.10.2 When viewed from the side of the car, no longitudinal vertical cross section may have
more than two sections in this area, each of which must be closed.
However I have repositioned the strakes so that when 1 finishes, another starts, meaning at any cross section there is always a closed section linking the main plane to the upper plane. Therefore, technically there are 2 section. This excludes the central 150mm, as stated in the regulations.

I have placed my side impact structure lower, and have reshaped the aerofoil surfaces for better vortex generation underneath the floor. This new positioning hides the upper surfaces from the underneath view, deeming it legal.

Ok updates for the Jerez test on Tuesday:

New rear wing to try out, based on Renault W-wing of 2010.

Also new front wing and brake ducts, using the front wing to channel to the brake duct winglets, extending the front wing in this section. The duct itself is located beneath the winglets.

looking good!

Have you've done any CFD on the front wing? As I see it it uses some wierd profiles, the first plane seems to have an huge nose up angle and between the second and third flap is a weird slot gap(the 3rd flap seems to be a bit remote from the second).

For the rear wing I qould say the whole center section is raised due to the air intake there, at least that is what i've done with my car.

I'd call that an M-wing to be honest. Anyway, I like it.

The car has come on a bit since you posted in the F1 2011 off topic bit eh?

Looks brilliant!
