Alfa Romeo C38

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Alfa Romeo switching from one to two wastegate exhaust pipes. It's not the first time.

In the French GP Alfa Romeo also introduced new diffuser:

· The double gurney (blue and pink arrows) now does not extend throughout all upper part of the diffuser (red arrow)
· Three new fins on the side of the rear impact structure (yellow arrows)

Objective: Improve the efficiency of the central part of the diffuser.

Has anyone read or seen more info on their front damper/spring setup? It looks very unique. My first thought was maybe rotary dampers, but a larger image earlier in the thread made me doubt that. Still can't figure out what I am seeing with the large cylindrical elements concentric with the rocker pivots (One red, one black).

Cheers,

Jon

Don't we now have more teams with capes than those without it? :)
