They're interesting. Almost like they are trying to put the wing mirrors back in the old outboard configuration.

Anyone got any feeling for what good the turning vane is doing way up there? Is there some vertical component they are trying to control?

how about an iteration (more forward due to reglement), of this:

Hard to tell form those pictures, but looks a little like hoerner's wing tip:

known to produce strong, dense vortexes.
As we have a "year of clean flow to the rear" - it could create virtual channel, preventing the flow over sidepods from going sideways. Quite draggy at speed IMHO.

Today Chassis C29-03 was used in testing, previous test usage was done using C29-02, so 02 will be used as the unbuilt T Car in Oz with most probably 03 and 04 being used for the race.

Really don't know if it has already been mentioned. A friend of mine noticed a widening in the rear endplates in the end of the car.

Similar to what they do with the diffusers, does anybody know the reason?

That piece is also very thick in comparison to the normal turning vane or outboard mirrors. You can see in the image the comparison of how "chunky" (a technical term) those appendages are.

Similar to the one Mercedes introduced at the last test...a few teams have very small flaps now.

Comparison shots of flap sizes, anyone? Maybe it is time for a flap size comparison thread?

Does Sauber play with the exhausts as well? Have not seen anything fancy yet.

I wonder what they could be testing with such a radical setup
