Max a few hours ago at Fuji Speedway in the rain for RB. Click on a video for full screen.

After the first two Grands Prix, Formula 1 has now arrived in Japan for the next round of the 2026 championship. Max Verstappen is looking forward to the race: “The first two races have been a bit more challenging than we would have liked and it was unfortunate that we had to retire the car in China with an ERS cooling issue. There is still a lot to do, however, I have a lot of confidence in the team and they have reviewed these issues and have been working hard to optimise the performance of the car.”

There's that p-word again
On that high point, Max turns to Formula 1. According to him, there’s still a lot of potential in the current Red Bull car. Max: “Like I said, there is a lot of potential in the car. We just need to understand a few things that have been going wrong – in the last race, for sure. We just need to keep working, keep trying, get more performance out of the car.” After Japan, there is a short break on the calendar because the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have been canceled. According to Max, that break comes at a good time. “The little break that we have now is a good time to look back and analyze even more things to try to be better in Miami.”

"Motorbiscuit", is that an F1 news outlet for dogs or something?

We'll see soon enough, such upgrades would be included in the FIA document release.

"Motorbiscuit". I haven't seen that website before. Should we give the fact checking hotline a ring?

Hadjar says the car is certainly not the lightest  he also says that it isn't that hard to drive. But let's see what happens when the car gets light.

Ah I see AR3 already posted max's quote. It's interesting

Once they lose some weight and fix some balance and setup issues, I can imagine them fighting for podiums. Red Bull still has core engineers who worked on the dominant RB19, so they can't be that bad.

Pretty obvious that the weight is the main issue, I saw they asked Hadjar if the main problem was the engine or the chassis, and he said the chassis.

We will see. Verstappen has never finished off the podium in Suzuka.

Motor Biscuit was right?

According to rumors, the team has fast-tracked a brand-new floor edge design. By adjusting the geometry of the floor fences and the edge wing, the energy drinks racing team is hoping to better seal the underbody air pressure when the car pitches forward under heavy braking.

Slimmer Inlets: The team has significantly tightened the primary radiator inlets to reduce the car’s overall aerodynamic wake.

Reprofiled Undercut: The channel of air flowing under the sidepods toward the rear diffuser has been aggressively sculpted to force high-energy air directly to the rear beam wing.

Cooling Louvers: Because Suzuka can be demanding on engine temperatures, Red Bull is introducing a modular louver system on the engine cover to maximize cooling without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency.

RBPT is not doing too bad. Aside from the outlier with Hadjar in Australia, the other 3 are still on the 1st set of components.
