These elements are linked directly to engine power.
Yea, this is largely what was feared over Mercedes ICE advantage. Where most power units are expending 'x' amount of electrical energy to get to 150kph or whatever, Mercedes can dial back the electrical deployment to some degree and get there in the same amount of time but then still have more deployment left over while others have run out.
At least with these gaps Ferrari will be within the Aduo for sure.Seanspeed wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026, 19:50Yea, this is largely what was feared over Mercedes ICE advantage. I think there's a genuine benefit to it otherwise why would they waste the only free practice session on a sprint weekend? But it's not the panacea the Italian press were making it out to be and it still needs a little more baking to be consistently useful. Just like every other novel concept.
McLaren were on Ferrari's Q pace in Melbourne this isn't really new, just happened to land on the right side of the thousandth difference. It's in the race that they drop off a cliff.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026, 22:33McLaren has caught us up. I hope their race pace is crap though.
With these power units, this is not a given. Maclaren are learning.Sidiamal wrote: ↑13 Mar 2026, 23:16McLaren were on Ferrari's Q pace in Melbourne this isn't really new, just happened to land on the right side of the thousandth difference.
