Considering that AMR have acquired the Chief Aerodynamicists from Both RBR and Merc over the last 2 years, that doesn't include Dan Fallows, this isn't a great catch by McLaren. Although, he likely has insight into what they're doing with the floor.
McLaren's issue isn't simply talent based, it's also about numbers. Their aero and engineering departments are below strength, hindering efficiency. He came in January, so definitely part of the team working flat out on the Baku upgrades. From his bio, he worked on the AMR22 & 23, so some good knowledge being brought along, like you pointed out.diffuser wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 16:00

I think teams understand other teams will bring upgrades as well. Talk of improvement probably means few tenths compared to other teams.AR3-GP wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 06:16Rushu wrote: ↑19 Mar 2023, 06:03“So I think if you race well, if we can improve the car by a few tenths like we plan to do, then we can have some enjoyable races"Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑18 Mar 2023, 16:49Regarding Baku. Is it a B-Spec car with a new philosophy or is it gonna be a major upgrade that's gonna be implemented on the current car? Whatever it will be it must deliver 7 tenths at least in order for the team to be able to say that they are doing something.

Baku upgrade is going to be by only a few tenths according to Stella.
Where are the journalist asking the hard questions. What if other teams bring upgrades worth a few tenths as well.
