This qualifying showed me that Ferrari is quicker than Merc IF it is hot. Otherwise Merc is quicker.

Cannot believe how lucky they can get yet again...

Will they penalise Verstappe like they did Vettel
Yea, unbelievable. Especially Hamilton got lucky with conditions. He is a rain master. However, it was dry all the time and he was no where near to being even in the second row. Then it rains...

If the Mercs come out of turn 3 still 1 and 2 they will very likely be able to control the race pace and manage tyres. Will be extremely difficult to overtake as following through s2 and s3 will be brutal in these cars and burn tyres up.

So... This seems to blow out the water any suspicion that RedBull's chassis is the best on the grid. We've now seen a couple of races involving the great engine equaliser of the rain, and RedBull has been basically nowhere in both.

Well I'm glad I didn't go to bed, that was nail biting! Lewis is supreme in the wet, thought Max would do better. Real shame for Daniel...

How's Kimis kid, uninterested and eating an ice-cream. Like father like son aye.

Vettel outqualified by Raikkonen, not a wet weather expert, who also didn't gain the benefit of 2 timed laps on the second set of wet tyres. Fail.

Rain master honestly....
Disappointed for Kimi as he was fast enough for the pole but he'll start ahead of Vettel with a very good race pace

I wonder if Mercedes will put Softs on their car for the starts tomorrow. With a 1-2, they may be able to block the Ferraris, even if they start on the USs.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

People need to understand that, Red Bull bolts every bit of carbon fibre available in the factory to the car with a big rake and tells the world that, they have the best chassis. A Good chassis has to be a good performer on most type of tracks and in most of the conditions. Bottas was the fastest man through the Sector 2 all weekend and he ended the qualifying as the fastest man in S2 that clearly tells how good that Mercedes chassis is.
