Verstappen had great pace and was faster than both Leclerc and Piastri. Norris was slowed down by Piastri most of the sprint so hard to say how he and Verstappen compared. This was not like Austin where it was pretty clear both Ferrari and Mclaren had more pace.avantman wrote: ↑02 Nov 2024, 22:23Have you been watching the season at all? You cant judge or predict the race pace based on sprint pace, especially this year when they are allowed to change setup. It's no secret Max was far more competitive on softer, medium tires in Sprints all but Mclaren got far better on every single occasion on Sunday.
Lando wasn’t slowed down at all. McLaren even asked Piastri to slow down to give him DRS.Gillian wrote:Verstappen had great pace and was faster than both Leclerc and Piastri. If they race it will be wet so hard to say what performance will be for all teams but Verstappen seems to have enough pace to get a podium even with the penalty.
I understand your point but Im not convinced. Seemed more to me Norris was annoyed at some point and got out of DRS range. Pretty sure Norris would have been faster than Piastri.dialtone wrote: ↑02 Nov 2024, 22:32Lando wasn’t slowed down at all. I don't know, but I was watching the sprint race, and McLaren's could not pull away from Max. Looked like he had better regen/deploy or battery store than Ferrari, possibly over McLaren as well. We will see with 5 place grid penalty but Max was not sliding like Lando was and Max would have passed Piastri and Lando after a few more laps. The race is 71 and will be a DRS tug-o-war.
I personally like sprint qualifying order because it's actually a qualifying result.
