HRT F111 Cosworth

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Have not seen the underside of nose cone with a curved profile for a long time, has mostly been flat through the 2000's this reminds me of the 90's

Yes at least this one looks like a proper F1 car.

But im affraid the late launch will give them alot of reliability issues.....

Yep! "This could be you" on the sidepod and "Your logo here" on the wing.

The FWEPs are really basic. Lots of room for development there!

Also a low nose. Just two of the slowest cars (Virgin and HRT) going down this route this year it appears. Won't comment on the rest until I see better photos.

Finally, well done guys for getting a new car out so quickly!!!

you would think a Spanish team wouldn't have Spanish Custom issues. ;)

Jose isn't as big time as he thought! :P

Seriously, the car looked good in renders, now I see it on track(which is actually a miracle) and it looks ugly, slow and way behind the rest of the grid. The front wing is way behind and a copy of a wing from 2009. If they make the 107% rule they are really lucky

They finished the car early this year!!!

If they are within 107% of pole, within 1 second of Team Lotus and Virgin, and run the complete season then it's a major victory.

Remember all the negotiations to buy the 2010 Toyota car that fell through? HRT clearly did not get serious about making their own car until late in the game but they've done it. This is how you get a competent F1 car done on the fly for little money. It is possible. Have Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor from USF1 noticed?

This team carries on the spirit of the old Minardi team, I'm rooting for them!!

They're hopeful, and I can see their logic in thinking they're faster this year: All the limits on diffusers etc this year have made this years cars slower, our car last year was a dog and this one isn't so comparatively we will be faster.

We'll see how it goes tomorrow :) .

No, I think they'd rather people just forgot about the F111..!!
Very off-topic, but you meant General Dynamics I think.
General Dynamics was bought out but Lockheed Martin. So all the copyright now resides at Burbank
Wow, I did mean General Dynamics, but came off looking like I knew what I was talking about..!! 8)

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I think they did well in testing with the Williams box. I assume this new car has the old chassis mated to completely new panels and wings? One could assume they will have the reliability they have had if the internals are mostly same.
