But there are also other influencing factors: Mercedes and Ferrari have problems in corners where the drivers turn in on the brakes. During load changes or turned front wheels, the downforce fluctuates. That's why Mercedes was better in Baku than in Monza. Technical Director James Allison explains: "In Baku, the braking manoeuvres are completed before the drivers turn in. Just like in Montreal. Our car can do that. If our drivers have to do both at the same time, our car is unstable."

a.k.a their GE floor is highly sensitive, not robust enough to absorb small orientation changes (which are unavoidable, even with super stiff super anti dive suspension).
Only McLaren have aced this, they can run a soft suspension, higher ride heights and still have stable downforce.

Mercedes have looked pretty good around Canada every year of these regulations - so this car carries some good traits of the W13 then.
Call a spade, a spade.

George was really fast in race pace in Baku so good job. And I bet it will be a good weekend in Singapore and Las Vegas, just like Canada.

You know the Mercedes team is super boring when there is not much to talk about other than George's contract which is pretty much a forgone conclusion.

I rather have a team be boring than have unnecessary drama.

Why do you come to this conclusion?

Much Larger cooling exit. This was introduced during the Austrian GP, but was removed on that Saturday.

I get Kimi doesn't want to lose to his teammate but they should have swapped them round a lot sooner.

George's pace in clean air was on par with Verstappen on the hards.
It was not. Verstappen pushed whenever he wanted and made the gap larger towards the end. Averaged over 51 laps, 14s is roughly 3 tenths and that is a mountain to climb.
I said on the hards, in clear air.

Max pushed hard on the mediums for a few laps at the end whereas George just cruised to the finish.
